What does perfection mean for a human existence? What is it to be perfect? Is it not frightening, this idea of an ideal me so much better than the real me? If this ideal me is something to be achieved, if it is the result of sacrifices and struggles, then yes, this is frightening, even humiliating to be compared with it. If this ideal me is somewhere hidden in my unconscious mind, staring at me like a God at the time of the last judgment, then yes, it is frightening. But Yoga proposes a totally different approach. The « perfect me » is not something to be compared with. The « perfect me » is not at a distance, it is not somewhere in the far future when my to-do list would be all checked. The « perfect me » can be embodied right now, in this very breath, in this very step.
