Dr. Hestorff erased my generation gap in many ways. This is extremely well written. Highly recommended.
Great Resource for Anyone Working With Teens
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
Anyone working with teenagers ought to read this work. Hestorff pulls no punches and offers insights into the new adolescent condition that have been culled from the best of both academic research and hands-on experience. Although clearly targeted for church-based youth workers, the text sweeps broader than just evangelical ministry. Areas covered include insights into teenage social networking, teenage worldview conception, and the impact of multitasking on students. Highly recommended!
Excellent book!

Just read YM2K, and I thought it was excellent. it's well-written, well-researched, and interesting. It's a quick read, and it's not at all bogged down with the self-serving/self-help nonsense that many of today's ministry books are. It's a fresh take on the practice of youth ministry within the context of the emerging postmodern culture, and the author has some pretty scathing things to say about ministers', parents', and society's in general reaction to this culture shift. I would reccomend this book to anyone seriously considering a career in ministry, youth or otherwise, as well as anyone who has questions about the cultural ramifications of postmodernism. Excellent book.
