This monologue for an actress with some maturity, has strong sexual overtones based on traditional homophobic attitudes. I realize that as a fully heterosexual person, who has come from a family with respect for those who are of a different sexuality, and this monologue has been with me for many years. It was re-worked as a script-in-hand production by Jen Hayes and Pauline Daniels ten years ago, but it is only now that I feel brave enough to go fully public with it: the arrival of The Imitation Game has given me courage to look at some of the cruel historical attitudes towards some of the nicest of people and realize that I should publish this drama.
