"Yellow is for Scared is the story of a little boy, Tony, who, overwhelmed by his fears, decides one day to jump into his grandmother's casserole and sail off into the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The escape, which is supposed to protect Tony from the world that scares him the most, inevitably becomes a journey of self-exploration through deeply hidden anger, hurt, loneliness, fear and, finally, love and the beauty of being connected. This reflection on early fears and anxieties is accompanied by an array of magical creatures, familiar children's tunes, astonishing beauty of nature and good humour.

The big adventure begins when Tony meets the nicest creature on the planet - shark Dennis. Dennis is not only charming and very funny, but also loving and not at all afraid to show his feelings. For Tony, Dennis and his family will be a great reminder of what it feels like to be surrounded by those who love you.
After days of restless rowing, Tony will finally approach a place that resembles an island. However, his hopes of finding someone there to show him the way home are dashed when he discovers that the place he has found is actually an 'Island of Honesty', ruled by the cruel Queen of Jellyfish. The Jellyfish will play a cruel game at Tony's expense, which will help him discover long un-explored strong feelings towards his mom.
After successfully escaping the Island of Honesty, Tony finds himself in the middle of the darkest place on earth. Deep in the Atlantic Ocean, there are waters contaminated with the plastic waste we humans produce every day. Determined, Tony will not only need all his strength and energy to row through it, but he will also have to face his greatest fear - the fear of the darkness. There will be disbelief at what humans have done to nature, there will be loneliness and despair, and finally there will be a moment when Tony will consider giving up. But there will also be someone very special - Fear himself - who, as it turns out, is the best captain in the world - who will help Tony find his way out of the Atlantic Ocean.
"And there she was... not the brightest, in fact shy and small, but the closest, reachable, little star I later named Hope. Something made me want to go and catch her. That was about the time I realised I was just below the surface and my grandma, yes, she was always there for me. Looking after me. That's the love I was paddling through and looking for, I suppose."
After many days of restless rowing, Tony, following the loving spirit of his beloved Granny, will find his way back to his Mom. The mother who has been patiently waiting for Tony to complete the journey he has undertaken to rediscover the love she once held for him and the life he once had.
"Sometimes you have to take this whole journey in the wrong direction to realise that where you were going was actually your starting point. That what you were looking for was always there. The bad news is that it is an exhausting search. The good news is that it will always be there. Waiting."
