It was going to be a major season for Celtic, who were going for ten titles in a row. Unfortunately, it was a major season, if not a vital one, for Neo-Gers as well. Their financial strategy of constant loans being constantly converted to shares couldn't go on indefinitely. They needed a title win, not just for the opportunity to get into the Champions League, but to keep The People buying season tickets, replica shirts and other merchandise. If Celtic were to win yet again, the game was a-bogey. No prizes for guessing which team the Establishment wanted to win the title this season Neo-Gers had proven time and again that they simply weren't good enough. The media were full of praise, as ever, for Steven Gerrard, but this season was last-chance saloon for the manager. His sacking had simply been postponed due to the league being called early last season. There would be no hiding place this time around. He had to win if he was going to hold onto his job. The referees, of course, had always done their best to help Neo-Gers, but, so far, that hadn't exactly been successful. It was going to take more than that to get Neo-Gers to the top of the table. With things looking perilous, the Establishment rallied round to help the Widow's Son. Ignoring breaches of the rules by Neo-Gers, changing the rules when it came to Celtic, plus a rabid media that followed Celtic players everywhere, desperately looking for something, anything, to keep the pressure on Celtic. This is the story of a season that The People and the agnivores claim is Neo-Gers' 55th title win. Anybody believing they deserved their win wasn't paying attention. It's a story that involves the football authorities, the agnivores, the Scottish Government and possibly even the Celtic board.
