X-man: Celebrating an 8 year old's imagination

Twenty-five years ago, 8 year old Matt was often out of school because of his treatment for leukemia. He spent much of his time writing absolutely brilliant stories that were published as The Great Planet Swap and Other Stories while he was in the bone marrow transplant unit at the University of Minnesota. He also completed this novel, X-man, while in transplant. It was truly "ripped from the headlines" in 1986 with a sweetness of an 8 year old trying to save the world. With the Arab spring in 2011 including the battles in Libya, we thought it was time to print this book to further celebrate Matt's life. All proceeds - every penny - go to the La Crosse Public Education Foundation to encourage children's reading and writing.
