Fantastic! Chutzpah, humor, poignancy

This is an anthology for everyone. It is a melting pot of American experience-- lit with the humor of survival, shadowed with the pain of the struggle. The wit and lyricism of E.L. Doctorow and Grace Paley, the irreverence of Cynthia Ozick, the respected prose of Saul Bellow, Philip Roth and I.B Singer are only a few of the 24 voices in this symphonic clamour of beauty, hope, raging dispair, faith, love, and of course, humor. You don't need to be Jewish to understand and enjoy this book, you need only be human. A big heart and a funny bone helps, too.
