This book shows how two famous African writers, Alioum Fantour (Guinea) and Sony Labou Tansi (Republic of Congo), use the imaginary world through the figure of the animal to depict, in two of their novels, an African society in search of its bearings after gaining independence. Drawing on sociocriticism, the book highlights the contribution of intertextuality to these two authors' critique of post-colonial African society.
