Every fan of professional wrestling remembers the moment that captured their heart forever and hooked them for life. Whether it was Ric Flair regaining the NWA Championship from Harley Race at Starcade, the Freebirds turning heel on Kerry Von Erich, Mick Foley flying off the cage at King of the Ring, Jake Roberts DDT-ing Ricky Steamboat on the concrete, Samoa Joe's epic trilogy with CM Punk in Ring of Honor, or the premiere of WCW's Nitro: these are the matches and moments that thrilled, terrified, or outraged -- overwhelming you with real emotion. Mike Rickard's Wrestling's Greatest Moments brings you all the most memorable and controversial moments from modern wrestling history. It's an insightful and essential compendium of thirty years' worth of groundbreaking matches, angles and interviews. From Hulkamania to the Montreal "screwjob," from the NWA to the nWo, you'll rediscover what really occurred in arenas and on the air worldwide, and learn all the backstage and behind-the-scenes secrets that made these highlight-reel moments possible from the men and women who were there. Whether you watched Stone Cold Steve Austin point a gun at WWE honcho Vince McMahon's head, or stood outside the building as D-Generation X "invaded" WCW; whether you look back with nostalgia to "The King" slapping Andy Kaufman silly on Letterman or believe wrestling was better when Bruno sold out Shea; whether you were one of the Philadelphia "bingo hall" faithful who made ECW "extreme" or a casual observer of the Monday Night Wars; whether you're reliving these moments or discovering them for the first time, Wrestling's Greatest Moments will enthrall you with the exploits and extravagance, the tragedies and triumphs of the sport of kings.
I never leave reviews on websites for any reason. But now I have a reason to leave one. Wrestling's Greatest Moments was a trip down memory lane. There are things in here that made me understand why I love this buisness so much. From the territory days to the Attitude era, it's all highlighted in this very insightful and knowledgable book. Mike Rickard is nicknamed "Magnificant" which is exactly the word I would use to describe his masterpiece of a book. So if you consider yourself a wrestling fan, either now or when you were younger, do yourself a favor and pick this book up and remind yourself what it was like to enjoy yourself and not worry about the troubles of life. I guarentee you will not spend your hard earned dollars any better. -RDLee-

"Wrestling's Greatest Moments" is not only a remarkable reference book, it is also a fabulous read! I've only been following professional wrestling since the beginning of the Monday Night Wars in the mid-90's, which means I missed a lot of the greatest moments. Luckily, Mike Rickard is an exceptional storyteller who made those great moments come to life. He also made the trips down Memory Lane come to life, too, and it was a lot of fun to relive the antics of Stone Cold and other modern day icons. I would highly recommend this book.
Great reference tool for fans!

If you've been a fan of wrestling at any point over the past 30 years, this is a great way to recall some of the best angles, feuds, matches and supercards over that time period. A lot of stuff I hadn't heard of before, and some that I completely forgotten about. Great pictures as well... A welcome addition to any true wrestling fan's library.

Subject matter is written with passion and thoughtfulness of topic. This has educated me as a layman wrestling fan, to a place of appreciation for the sport itself and it's antics. Thanks for opening my eyes!
Wrestling's Greatest Book

A wonderful stroll through the history of professional wrestling. A very enjoyable reminiscent read this book conjures up memories of NWA Mid Atlantic Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, WWWF, AWA, etc., along with classic moments from WWE, ECW and WCW. This book is akin to a "Greatest Hits" collection through the last 40+ years of action in the "squared circle". This book is a MUST HAVE for any true fan of professional wrestling. My memory was jogged back to classic matches, interviews and angles that I had forgotten about but had to smile when they were recalled into memory by this book. Who could ever forget the classic Roddy Piper antics in Piper's Pit smashing a coconut over Snuka's head, or shaving the head of a midget or beating up jobber "Frank Williams" or of Piper smashing a beer bottle over his own forehead during an interview to prove a point. Remember classic matches such as "Bullrope Matches", "Dog Collar Matches", "Texas Death Matches" and more? You will once you start reading. How about Jimmy Snuka performing his "Superfly" maneuver off the top of a steel cage during his title match against champion Bob Backlund. These and MANY MANY MORE are relived in great detail. This is a very enjoyable read and a welcome addition to my book collection.
