My copy of this book is underlined and notated to death. There is a high probability that I will read the book again because I cannot remember every "aha" point I found in it. First, the author, a pastor, won me over by simply admitting that he, too, has some of the doubts, thoughts and concerns I have on the nature of suffering, the fate of the unevangelized, etc. I needed to read that. Second, Dennison methodically goes through each argument and examines the various conclusions scholars of the Bible have made pertaining to these topics. He does not purport a definitive answer for everything because some things we will not know for certain on this earth and will have to ask God when we get to Heaven (if we even care by then). However, by detailing his own argument for an issue, Denison helps me work through what I believe the Bible says. This book is important enough to me that I plan on buying a copy for each of my college age sons. Secular college is a tough place to be when you don't know the reasons behind what you believe, and I wish I had read this book BEFORE I finished the last long leg of my college degree.
