"Wreck Of the Charles Eaton" is the true account of crashing onto the "Detached Reef" on August 15, 1834 and subsequent cannibalism of all except two on Boydan Island, between north Australia and New Guniea. Teenager John Ireland and a younger boy, William Doyley (D'Oyly) lived with the islanders as captives until rescued, on June 3, 1836, by captain Charles Morgan Lewis on the schooner "Isabella". The recovered skulls of the Charles Eaton crew and passengers are buried in the Bunnerong Cemetery at Botany Bay in Sydney. "Wreck Of the Charles Eaton" is painful to read but history cannot be changed.
