These poems were written over a 50-year period, beginning in the author's college years all the way into her retirement years. The themes include love, faith, nature, character studies, and personal challenges. The author served as a international missionary for over 15 years, and many of these poems capture moments or experiences from her time in mission service. "Poetry is born first in the heart, nurtured in the mind, and in due season moves the writer to put the words on paper....Poets understand this. I look at my collection and see that the very way I form my letters, the way I fill my pages-or choose not to fill them-speaks sometimes as forcefully as the words themselves."
