Wounds, the book of poems, is a collection of poems that explores a philosophical and poetic view of mental illness and the effects it has on life itself. Despite that, there are themes of Nature, love, and family. This book is written by an African immigrant herself who initially didn't believe in mental health and therapy until the pandemic of 2020 forced her to revisit her past trauma and deal with it. Now going to therapy and finding positive outlets, she found herself writing about her pain in a poem, initially writing it as a suicide note, intending to publish it after her passing. This book is being brought to anyone out there who could never really put a finger on what their dark feelings are and how quickly life can change from dark to light.
