imaginative, psychological sci-fi

hmm no reviews, well ill be the first then. my friend had me read this book, its his favorite. i enjoyed it, its not too long and it draws you into it. the protagonist is some young guy who has mental powers that he comes to grips with over the course of the book. its like the matrix in that sense. so his power is that he dreams up fantasy worlds and situations, and lo and behold they become reality. in the beginning hes bad at it, and he refines it more and more over time. he has a few romantic flings to keep things interesting. the climax has him dueling with his equal in a showdown. its a pretty thrilling journey up to the climax, as well as the climax itself. its fun to see characters come into their own and realize the extent of their powers, which is a common theme of course but fun nonetheless. the end was a little abrupt and i didnt care for it too much, but i guess it did provide closure. just not the closure i wanted, but i wont say more. give this book a shot if you have some spare time and are looking for stimulating sci-fi. i dont know how my friend found it but it was a pretty decent recommendation.
