Myers' Law and C.V. Myers

In the course of my work I run across alot of books. And of those, a few are really rather rare. Such was the case about 2 weeks ago when I came across World Rollover by C.V. Myers. I am not a betting man but I would lay odds that you have never seen this book. For one thing, it was written in 1984 (appropriately enough!). The late C.V. Myers (1912 - 1990) was a one of a kind. He is probably most noteworthy for having been a writer and publishing The Myers Finance and Energy Newsletter. And he lived and worked right here in Spokane. His son carries on the family business www.myerssecretstocks.com This is a book which takes a big picture view of the World. It looks at the forest and not the trees. And though it was written in 1984, with a few simple adjustments, it could read like current events. The guy was way, way ahead of his time, mainly by being timeless. It was "C.V." who came up with his own economic law (his because he believes that he had seen it nowhere else by anyone else when he finally coined it): A DEBT WILL ALWAYS BE PAID -- EITHER BY THE ONE WHO BORROWED, OR BY THE ONE WHO LENT. He says of this, "If I can convince you that every loan in the world will be paid either by the debtor or the lender himself, who unwittingly made the bad loan, I will not have very much trouble in convincing you of all the rest of the conclusions in this book". He goes on to say, "This becomes the most important fundamental which you must absolutely accept as true beyond doubt". Then you will know that one of these days credit will explode with unimaginable force. This is the handwriting on the wall, and there is no escape from it.". C.V. even explains the Great Depression in a way I had never seen before, although Edward Griffin comes close. The Great Depression was caused by World War I and the debts it created. He likens the 1930 Depression to a battle and the coming one to a war. So find this book! Read it. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee you!
