is there really only one way?

so if it really makes a difference, what are all those religions about? why do so many people have so many different views of what a "good person" is suppose to be and if there really is an "after-life" is it true that there is only "one way"? this is a great starter book to get the basic ideas of the world religions. it challenges to continue to investigate and compare some of the major religious beliefs. do they all match up? can you make your own? is it important to know what you believe? if eternity hangs in the balance or if it's nothing after all your life, isn't it a good idea to make an informed decision?
