The book is all about political ideologies and how important they are in any political system. It explains the relationship between political ideology, political parties, and sustainable development and why they are inseparable.
In this literature, political ideology is conceptualized as a systematic, coherent, and action oriented set of political ideas and beliefs that has an explanatory, evaluative and pragmatic power which guides political behaviour of society or group of people that share/held the view. The research shows that while developed western and Asia nations rule their states with political ideology African nations have no iota of political ideology. The book attributed some of socio-political and economic problems in many African states to lack political road map (ideology).

The work is born out of the necessity to correct wrong impression some people have about ideology and to show how important ideology is in the development and stabilization of any political system. It also shows how ideologically barren states can become ideological. Research shows that some people have pejorative notion about ideology due to lack of scholarly literature nowadays that addressed the issue painstakingly.
