Essential introduction.

This is absolutely the best introductory book on the vast subject of World Englishes currently available. It covers a wide variety of topics and gives pointers to further reading. It also collects an excellent selection of essays by other scholars in the field. The layout is thoughtful it and can be used as a course book. If you are studying languages, language teaching or applied linguistics this is a must buy. Even if you aren't it is a facinating read.
