Workers and Volunteers: The foundation for their partnership

If sometimes God used a raven to send food to Elijah (1 Kings 17:2-6), and that once He made a donkey speak to Balaam (Numbers 22:28-30), we must understand that the human being, who is created in the image of God and redeemed by the blood of Jesus, has greater roles in this world than any other creature. Regardless of our positions, gender, age, and educational levels, each one of us is given a special task to do in the society. While this seem to be the fact, the reality in our churches, we must confess that many believers are passive. In this book I argue that, whether one is a paid worker or a volunteer, everyone is meant to actively be involved in building the Kingdom of God. God has equipped every believer for a given work. We all have something to do. The problem has always been how to get everybody involved and where we can draw the line of their duties and roles. This is what I discuss in this book. I will continuously emphasize that, regardless of our positions, age, and education, in the Kingdom of God, nobody is meant to be passive. But at the same time, I will show that our communities need workers who can take the responsibilities, because sometimes the work that anybody can do nobody does it and the result is a catastrophe.
