I have read through the Bible more than 30 times over the years. Each time I read it I find something I have missed in prior readings. At the beginning of 2000 I was watching Charles Stanley on TV when he was going through a series on meditation. I had tried meditation a few times in the past, but not with any consistency. As I listened, I thought why not try it again. At the same time, I was just finishing a 21 day fast. The result was a major change in my Bible reading and understanding.

I have been a Bible scholar for more than 50 years and really enjoy the study. Using meditation made it more enjoyable, and then the visions began. I had to ask for help of what they meant, and finally I became able to interpret them. As if all this wasn't enough, I began to hear God speaking to me. Not in a voice, but thoughts I knew were not my own. As I would read through the Bible each day, I'd pick out a verse for meditation and lay out my thoughts, then listen for His voice and what I heard was so much more fulfilling than my thoughts. I always compare it against Scripture to make certain there is no fallacy.

I challenge you to follow my journey through one year and see what you think. I believe it will be life changing. It has been for me.
