Wordly Wise, Book C is made up of 12 lessons with 8 12 words in each lesson. Words taught in Book C include tenant, barge, ornament, whittle, kiosk, frustrate, appetite, sheaf, moat, and prod. The presentation of the vocabulary in this book differs slightly from the previous two books in the series. Now the different parts of speech are listed before the definition. As in Book B, more than one meaning of a word is presented when appropriate, and the number of drawings is decreased to allow for expanded text. Book C has the same true/false and Hidden Message exercises found in Books A and B, but it has a larger crossword puzzle for every two lessons. Book C also contains an additional exercise that requires the student to rewrite a sentence using a vocabulary word in place of an underlined phrase. Grade 4."
