Imaginative way to learn

My 4 year old son loves this book. He loves the Word World show and all the videos too. I love the fact that it makes learning fun and because it is fun he seems to pick it up fast. This is the only Word World book we have and I am ordering more. I highly recommend this to others. I also showed a Word World video to a kindergarten class one day when I was substitute teaching and they all seemed to love it to. I think all the Word World products (at least all the ones we have) are fun and educational.

Lots of fun!

My son is now 16 months old, but he's has this book since he was about 6 months old. He loves it! He loves to pull the tabs and seems to enjoy the rhyming. I enjoy improvising by making the sounds of the various things he uncovers. The only problem I've had with the book is that it tore inside of the seam. The pages are very thick to accommodate the pull tabs, which weakens the seams if the book is opened too far (which happens a lot with a toddler!) We taped it up, but I'm hoping to get a new copy too!

Cute Concept/Interactive Fun

My 16-month old loves this book--she loves the 'push and pull' interactive aspect of it and seems to enjoy the story. Her middle-aged mom [me!] likes the fact that the superheroine is a mild-mannered sheep who 'starts knitting her cape fast' when duty calls, and restores order to the world by replacing or removing letters in the words of objects and animals, all which are illustrated using the actual words. I give this book four stars instead of five because the illustrations, while clever, are just a tad crude, which makes no difference to my daughter at her age but does to me [don't we all wish to expose our children to the very best of everything?]. I do love the concept of switching out letters to make new words and can't wait until my little girl begins to understand it--in the meantime, she enjoys the narrative regardless. Definitely recommended.
