James, an only son, is greatly loved by his father, Dr. Okoro, so much so that his father buys a T.V. set for him. But watching bad films late into the night makes him wake up late daily. He goes late to school and does no assignments. His teacher, Mr. Alapere, noticing this trend in him, advises him and James turns over a new leaf. His performance improves but he is finally spoilt as he joins bad gangs and fails his final examination. James, who is out on a robbery operation, is read on the news as executed to the listening ears of his father. Dr. Okoro, who collapses and dies. The deaths of both father and son become the tragic wonders of late moments' efforts to correct wrong actions. Its moralistic poise, tendencies, and artistic craft (techniques) give this play an edge over many other plays.
