Women constitute 50 percent of the total population of the world, in spite of this, women do not own even 1 percent of the world's property. Their contributions & role in the economy of a country has remained unaccounted and unassessed. Though they represent half the humanity, their contribution is underutilized. According to UN report women receive 25 percent less wages than men in spite of law of equal wages for equal work, so for the changing society, women play an important role in synthesizing social progress with economic growth of India. The need of the hour is Integration of women into development process which is very much necessary and it has to be felt by women themselves.
