Now that some denominations are accepting women as clergy, sociological data can be gathered to see what kind of impact they are having on local congregations. This book was an attempt in 1985 to do just that. Research focused on the United Presbyterian church, U.S.A. The author explored how church members felt about women clergy, why they felt what they did and how attitudes changed after having female leadership. A large expensive and technical book "Women Clergy" is suited to those interested in specific details of women clergy's experiences and in planning for future change. (This review was previously published in "Daughters of Sarah" July/Aug 1986. Currently this book would be useful in further research about women clergy twenty-five years later.)
