Myths that have arisen since the 60s

One of the most irritating myths to arise along with the women's liberation movement of the late 60s and early 70s is that these women were the first to break down the job barriers between men and women. This book should serve as a welcome reminder that the U.S. is not a uniform society, and that what holds true for many of its members by no means holds true for them all. Certainly, many women in the 50s married fresh out of high school or college, and held down no jobs outide the home throughout most of their lives, but for a minority of the most intelligent & best educated, this was not the case. What was the case is amply illustrated by this book.
