I offer "Wittgenstein's 'Philosophical Investigations': Identity as Paradox", a work in which I propose that Ludwig Wittgenstein's "Philosophical Investigations" overturns traditional philosophy. Traditional philosophy takes the laws of thought to ground in identity law, which law states of identity that "it is itself". This takes an identity to be a one-fold case of consistency, signified by "it", reflexively by "itself", and with the "is" functioning as a copula. My proposal is that Wittgenstein's thesis is an identity case is not a monistic consistency case signified-per identity law stating of identity that "it is itself"-by "it", but is a paradox case to be signified by "is", the paradox faces of which are the "it/itself" cases. I have taken and treated with some 500 of the numbered remarks of Wittgenstein's "Investigations" in order to propose these to be assorted language games, each bespeaking the thesis of "identity-as-paradox". In another of my works, "Diary of Atonement", I have treated anew with key philosophies of the western tradition in order to show how each philosophy implicitly presents as the thesis of identity-as-atonement, i.e., identity-as-paradox.
