Shawn Hamill was slowly being consumed by this silent killer as he raced up the corporate ranks in an all consuming race to corporate glory. Then the moment came when reality slapped him like an ice bath in a frozen pond. It was mid February, and he was on a flight to South Florida for meetings. His new boss, a self proclaimed prodigy, was determined to assert his authority, and eliminate independence.
Shawn had already begun questioning his unchecked devotion to business at all cost. Flying at 30,00 feet above the Gulf of Mexico, he considered his failing health. He questioned how long he could maintain his hectic travel schedule. Most importantly, he missed his family. He realized it was time for change... time to find balance.
He quit the corporate world, and started his own business. In doing so, he renewed him committment to Self, and Family, while learning how to balance that with his career. Eventually, Shawn and his family sold their house, cars, bought a sailboat and went sailing.
