Hardworking New Orleans environmental lawyer Rebecca Boudreaux's life just got substantially more complicated and dangerous because of the new case that her public interest law firm plans to file on behalf of citizens living in the Cancer Alley area of Louisiana. The focus of her case is River Road Recyclers, or Triple R, an oilfield waste recycling business that recently expanded its operations to illegally accept hazardous wastes. Rebecca must reveal how the company has doctored and falsified reports submitted to the government, spewed enormous amounts of toxic pollutants daily to the air and water near her clients' homes, and caused devastating health effects to her clients, all of which could have been avoided had the company just operated as it was required to under the law. Her efforts are hampered when her inside informants keep mysteriously dying, her clients are terrorized, her key witness is forced to hide in a rundown shack in the bayou until trial begins, and her own life is at risk. When Rebecca collapses in the courtroom and is rushed to the hospital on the first day of trial, her boss, Joe Cairns, steps in to litigate the case in her place. The drama climaxes as he exposes whether Rebecca's best friend, her steamy new love interest, the directors of the greedy and corrupt "recycling" company, or someone else has been acting . . . With Malicious Intent.
Reviews from Book Journalers on Bookcrossing's website: TEN STARS!!! "I loved this book. I thought it was brilliant. I loved the fact that the chapters were short, which I feel, keeps you reading. sometimes long chapters can tire you out! It made a great break from all the sci-fi I've been reading lately. I loved the drama and I loved the romance between Rebecca and Wesley. (was not expecting that little twist . . . at the end.) - Michelle Connell, Bookcrosser "gypsyrose02" (Seville Grove, Australia) "I loved this book! This had it all, mystery, romance, and most important, a few unexpected twists. It describes places and people enough to let you feel like you know them without going overboard. The story flows along perfectly. It was a quick and easy read. I started it one night before going to sleep, intending to only read a few chapters. It held my interest and next thing I knew it was 4am and I had read the entire book." - Marlene Mathes, Bookcrosser "Readrmar"(Lincoln, Nebraska, USA) "This was a nice quick read. An intriguing and unnerving look into the world of environmental crime. The book starts with Rebecca, a dedicated environmental lawyer, discovering that she has a bleeding stomach ulcer. How unfair to walk around with a stomach ulcer in New Orleans, not allowed to eat all that yummy spicy cajun food!!! After that the pressure on this single hard working woman only gets more and more. This book has everything that a good thriller needs: murder, suspense, twists. Different from what a normally read, but nice for a change." - Arnica van der Wiele, Bookcrosser "Pluisje" (Ngatea, Hauraki, New Zealand) "I really enjoyed it. There's a few twists at the end that I wasn't expecting. It's got it all, murder, suspense, romance. The main character, Rebecca seemed very real to me. She works too much, single (I can relate to that) and is a good friend.... Great first book, hope there's many more to come." - Jennie Kovacs, Bookcrosser "Heaven150" (Alberta, Canada) "It was a captivating read. I was dreading and anticipating the next twist/action at the same time and couldn't put the book down. And the environmental pollution and its effects left a big knot in my gut." - Christine Knollmeyer, Bookcrosser "ekaterin4luv" (Nurenberg, Germany) Also available in Kindle version.

Reviewer: Marlo's Mom (Costa Mesa, CA). I'm very impressed this first effort by M.T. Kingsley. Great characters, romance, and lots of good plot twists in a story that shows the author knows a lot about environmental issues and the law. A very fast read. I look forward to the next book.

With Malicious Intent is a zippy legal thriller with some great plot twists. It is very accurate in its depiction of an environmental lawsuit in the bayous of Louisianna. Most of the characters are not necessarily what they seem. Great descriptions bring this area of the country to life. A fun read!
French Quarter, Here I Come

This book has it all: legal drama, romance, and incredible detail of places to see and be seen in Louisiana. It made me want to take a trip to New Orleans immediately! The main character is extremely likeable; you want her to succeed in all of her endeavors. As the previous reviewer noted, there are plenty of plot twists to keep you turning the pages, and many characters are not what they seem. I highly recommend it!
