My very favorite Christmas Book -- needs to be back in print

This little treasure captures the spirit of giving, of generosity, and of transformation. The illustrations of the sweet grandmother whose heart is so full of giving looked amazingly like my own dear grandma, Viola. When I mentioned this to a friend, she exclaimed, "No, it looks exactly like MY grandmother!" We read this book aloud each Christmas eve, and it is hard to get through without some tears in my eyes. Mem Fox captures the true meaning of Christmas -- the giving of one's self. And in so doing, the little grandmother disarmingly exemplifies Christ's counsel, "When you do it unto the least of these, my bretheren, you do it unto me."

With Love at Christmas is a woderful book.

This is a magical book about the true meaning of Christmas. It makes children think about the true nature of Christian giving. The main character is a lovely grandmother who enjoys giving gifts to her family more than anything. However, this Christmas she gives away all their gifts to people who are less fortunate and needy. The miracle that her generosity brings forth is powerful ending of the story.
