These are two stubborn people, and they are absolutely perfect for each other. The sooner they realize it, the better. Scout, of course, has a big hand in bringing Maggie and Nick together. Scout's past abuse makes Maggie extremely protective of her. Scout uses her canine ability to know whom she can trust, and Nick is at the top of her trust list, much to Maggie's dismay. Maggie fights Nick but she can't fight her strong attraction to him. He awakens within her a womanly awareness that has been long dormant. The secondary cast of characters are a colorful lot, adding moments of comedy, touching sentimentality, and home grown love. It's wonderful to see such a brilliant suspense/mystery book come from a brilliant romance writer. She has interwoven such a brilliant plot with Maggie at the center that readers are mesmerised to finish it once they hold this book in hand. Cait London has done justice with the characters, their background, fear psychosis and overall plot. Just Marvellous and hope everyone enjoys this materpiece the way I did.

Stunned and needing a change Maggie steals the hunting dog Scout from the SOB whom assaulted her and flees from the San Francisco area into the night still seeking revenge against Brent.One year later in Blanchefleur, Michigan, Maggie and Scout meet widower Nick Alessandro and his extended family. She feels safe within the Alessandro brood and she and Nick fall in love. However, Brent knows she has made progress in her effort to bring him down and he is coming to finish the job even if it mans killing an Alessandro if any get in his way.Though the bad guys are cartoon types with the prime villain offering no positive qualities and his "helpers" seemingly more like incest mistakes, WITH HER LAST BREATH is an exhilarating second chance romantic suspense. The story line moves quickly forward from the moment that Maggie and Scout become buddies.
