With a Pinch of Sin deals with the author's youth in an Irish-Catholic household in rural southern Ontario during the 1920s. Stories are well written, often humorous, and exude nostalgia for a time that seemingly was simpler & more innocent and wholesome. In its time, the book appears to have had an appreciative audience, but now--along with the author's other books--has largely been forgotten. A shame really since it ranks among the best of this genre that I've read.
