Witches of Cattle Creek Crossing

Swamp water fever ravages the people of Old St. Augustine. Some stricken children die, while others mysteriously disappear into the darkness every night! Everyone suspects that six secretive, deformed, sextuplet sisters who control a vital cattle crossing in the middle of the swamps that lie to the north of the city's gates are involved. One night, a lowly beggar woman, asleep in the shadows of a secluded city street, observes one of the sisters with a large burlap bag slung over her shoulder. She detects the faint, muffled cry of a child as the sister walks by! Sensing an opportunity for improving her position in life, the beggar claims to be a Minorcan witch. Peering into her crystal ball, she declares that the six sisters are swamp witches who steal their sick children in order to harvest their bones for their private collection! Outraged, the town's citizens condemn the sisters and, with the church's blessing, burn them at the stake! But...as we all know...
