Since rescuing Greg, all has been well for the siphon and storm mage as they learn what it's like to have a life together. MAGI is doing well at creating a new leadership in 4 of the 6 regions of the US. However, the Dakotas and pieces of Washington remain firmly under Harbinger's control, and that's where they're holding Kaitlyn's parents.
Greg has learned to manage his powers, well enough to lead one branch of the attack on Harbinger's island lair as Kaitlyn and her team launch their offensive from the other side.
Upon returning to the MAGI den to regroup and recover, Greg discovers that a more important mission awaits: rescuing his wife, the siphon. After wiping out the rest of her team, Harbinger has taken Kait hostage to turn her into their next well.

If Harbinger thought Greg was hard to control as their captive, they won't know what hit them when he is the one doing the rescuing.

None of them understand how much easier it would be to let the storm carry me away and be used as its conductor of destruction. A little bolt here, a straight-line wind there to destroy homes, and you know what? Let's have a tornado-just for funsies.
