After witnessing her gangster brother's treachery, Kristen Rodale lived in fear that he'd find her. The government failed to protect her before the trial against him, so her only chance at survival lay in running as fast as she could...and forgetting about having a normal life. Former FBI agent Dane Cambia wanted revenge, and he needed this special witness to get it. But he hadn't counted on falling for Kristen, the bait to his trap. When the chips were down, would Cambia betray the woman he loved in order to carry out this all-important mission?
Antonio Benito made his sister's life a living hell. Because he made her witness his ruthlessness she was put into witness protection where again she was betrayed. She knew that in order to protect her, Nancy gave her life for her escape. Nine months and many changes later she lands in Virginia. It had all started in Florida. The only trouble is that former FBI agent Dane Cambia and Lucian Moss are on her trail. The law has not been able to nab Benito and these two men want him bad. His sister will make a fine bait to lure Benito out into the open. Kristen Rodale lands a job with Sheridan Young, a yoga instructer. Sheridan has to take off to see her pregnant sister and Kristen is left along to oversee the renovation of a couple of rooms. The carpenter, Dane Cambia shows up and also Crystal, a young friend of Sheridans' who help to complicate life for Kristen. Well, hormones show up between Dane and Kristen - yup! they do the deed - very strange considering. But oh well ! Dane and Moss set the trap for Benito - leads to some tense moments - run and hide or tell all. Hurt feelings? betrayal, rejection - they run the gamet. Pretty good plot - good charcters - enjoyable read. Will recommend -
