Great instruction and practice!

Winning Chess Puzzles for Kids presents instruction about chess tactics in a brief, logical, straightforward, and comprehensible format. The thousands of puzzles range from very easy to somewhat difficult. I am rated in the 1400s and found a few of the puzzles quite difficult. These puzzles are great practice for beginners and novices. Answers are available in the back of the book. Working from the front of the book to the back, you encounter instruction and examples of new tactics, followed by puzzles on that tactic. Continuing, you come to puzzles on previously learned and practiced tactics (review). The average difficulty of the puzzles seems to increase as you go through the book. My students, largely through use of this book, became pretty good tactical players. I highly recommend Winning Chess Puzzles for Kids.
