Winnie the Witch, Winnie Flies Again, and Winnie in Winter

This trilogy includes Winnie the Witch, Winnie Flies Again, and Winnie in Winter. Winnie the Witch lives in an all black house with a black cat she keeps tripping over, so she turns him green and then loses him in the grass. She finally turns him multi-colored, like a rainbow, but it makes him unhappy, so she turns him back into a black cat and turns her house multi-colored instead. My two year old adores witches and cats and loves this one. Winnie Flies Again is about a witch that keeps flying into planes and helicopters and buildings as technology advances. She tries turning her broom into other forms of transportation, such as a bike and a horse, etc. but none work so well as her broom. Once she gives up, she is given a pair of glasses and can see again. My two year old isn’t that interested in this one. Winnie in Winter is about a witch that makes her house and yard into summer while the rest of the world lives in Winter. She enjoys it until the flowers begin to die and the townspeople won’t leave and she turns everything back into ice and learns that there are things to appreciate about Winter as well. Again, my two year old is not so interested in this one, but there is merit in all 3 stories. I wrote the review becaue I wasn’t sure what was included in the book when I bought it. The book is oversized, heavy stock, brightly colored, and has detailed illustrations. They’re probably better suited for older children but my two year old does love witches and cats. There are tons of story lines for this witch so just look around for a topic your child enjoys and you should be good.
