In an ironic twist of fate, Ken loses his own vision in an explosion when preparing for a trial run after being encouraged by skywriting stunt flyer Sheila Mason (Loy). Unaware she is paying his bills, Ken dismisses Sheila's affections as pity and lives as a sullen recluse. However, when she gets lost in the fog during a perilous flight and he realizes how much he loves her, Ken takes off on suicide mission to guide her down, the blind leading the blind.
