The Winds of Baddeck

Jason Kinde is a young piano prot g living with his affluent family in New York City while studying at the Barrett Conservatory of Music. Despite having competed in competitions all over the world, the pressure is on as he prepares for his master's recital, the final requirement for graduation.Dr. Cunningham, his present instructor, is concerned Jason is in danger of burning himself out. As such, Jason is sent away for the summer to Baddeck, Canada, a town in the country's maritime region, where he can wind down and still continue his preparation. While there, he meets and works with Uncle Andy, who lives a simple life in the town, and is himself a world renown conductor and composer. Jason also meets Noel Summers, a First Nation descendant, working at the cottage where Jasson is staying. Are Jason's experiences in Baddeck and the people he meets what he needs to achieve his goals? Time will tell as the summer progresses.

This is Dorsey Butterbaugh's seventh published novel. He has recently retired after forty-eight years working as a physician assistant. He is now focusing entirely on his writing and has several other manuscripts in progress. He presently lives at the beach in Delaware with his wife, Suzanne, and their dog, Louie.
