"Will You Let Me Know When You Die?" asks a strange question. The question regards all the questions, left unanswered when your first love ends in heartbreak. It is an honest account of a writer maturing through first butterflies to the fears and hopes of young love.
The chapters give an overview of the journey of love, the collection of poems begins with ideas, dreams, and the wish for the actual experience. Desire, longing, sexual experiences, and the understanding of it will further be explored, as the poems begin to transform in focus towards another. Distance of both emotional and personal spheres lead to the breaking point and anger complicates things. The final chapters deal with the topic of breaking up, sadness and loneliness and reflections on the self and the love interest.
The poems are relatable in their sweetness of the beginning and the bitterness of the realizations towards the end. The last few chapters might leave you with the satisfaction of growth and conclude the poetic journey through first love.
This collection of poems started as a personal habit of putting mind to paper. And when finally something lasting appeared, it was the navigation of a feeling so overwhelming that the poems were a necessary form of expression.
