Breathtaking Applique

Carol Armstrong has amazing talent; I'm so impressed! Using tiny bits of fabric, she creates masterpieces of floral arrangements. They truly take your breath away. She implies that I (her reader) can create the same by following her instructions. No way. It's gracious of her to be so inspiring and encouraging, but you need TALENT and a high level of skill to make these wallhangings. They look simple, but they are not - they're very sophisticated. I don't believe the average quilter would succeed with these. Her unrealistic expectations (and giving false hope?)is the only drawback to this book.
Beautiful applique

The applique designs are lovely, realistic, and disarmingly simple. Watch out for small applique pieces. The individual flower designs seem to me to work better than the larger composition pieces shown, but all in all a refreshing new look.
