Red's guns appeared in his hands without seeming to have moved and twin bullets hammered into Ludlow before he could even pull the pistol from his holster. Hitching up on his toes, the man took two steps forward before pitching forward on his face and lying still. Coolly Red fed shells into the empty chambers and flipped the cylinder closed. Dropping the guns back into their holsters he turned on his heel and walked away without a backward glance.
