Nobody does it better than Anne Stuart!!

I eagerly await EVERY Anne Stuart book. Don't care if they are reprints from her early days, or the newest novels - historical or contemporary. She does bad boys that we cannot resist better than any writer around. I noticed even Teresa Mediros - one of the best Historical writers around took time to write a review for this book and called Stuart her favourite author!!She is stiff scientist brought to an island by a Bill Gates/Howard Hughes Billionaire that claims to have a man - a 'tarzan' found in the jungles of his own private island. She is there is there to study him. She does like his right and left hand men, shady and sexiest. Nothing 'Feels' Right. Worse, she sees for herself they consider Tarzan little better than an animal, a man who cannot speak. Fearing for his life, she sets him free. Only Tarzan refuses to leave 'Jane' behind, so they are off in a race for their lives. This is one good romp!!

Terrific quick read

The other reviewers have all given a brief synopsis of the story, so I'm not going into that. This book is part of the Harlequin Romance series -- one that I have avoided for many years because I prefer the "full length" novels and more detailed plot/character development. I bought this book because I like Anne Stuart. Ms. Stuart did a terrific job of packing adventure, passion and romance in the 250 pages. I was sorry to see the story end. If you want an entertaining quick read or an introduction to Anne Stuart, read this. If you are a fan of Anne Stuart (and you keep in mind the page-constraints of writing a Harlequin Romance novel), get this. Highly recommended.

I'd give it ten stars if I could

Anne Stuart once again proves why she's my favorite author. She takes my most primal fantasies, both sexual and emotional, and sets them to prose the way a master composer sets words to music. This Tarzan/King Kong/Beauty and the Beast story captivated me from the very first page. It was sheer perfection from start to finish and I was flipping pages like crazy toward the end. (I kept picturing Meg Ryan as Elizabeth.) My only complaint was that it could have gone on for 800 pages and it still wouldn't have been enough. WILD THING, I think I love you!

Couldn't put it down...

For a man who doesn't speak for 3/4 of the book, Johnathan B. Hunter was a very captivating chracter!Libby is brought to Ghost Island for a purpose -- discover if this wild man is a missing link. One of the richest men in the country brings her to the island to complete this mission but little does he know that this "wild man" is really only an Australian man on a walkabout. After a trial with some men and a noose, John cannot speak except in grunts plus the drugs they had been pumping into him wasn't helping his civilized attitude any.Once Libby realizes that this "wild man" a man she deems John, is really a prisoner, she helps to let him escape. But he isn't leaving her behind, it seems. He pulls her along with him into the jungle. It isn't until John leads her to an airplane that she realizes that he's more civilized than they first thought. Then after he kisses her -- well, let's just say it's down hill from there. The fast pace and fireworks not to mention lack of clothing, are what makes this a wonderful read!

Beauty and the Beast goes modern

My first romance by this author and wow!...will I be going back for more!!!The story line might not be to everyone's taste, since it is a touch (well lots) unbelievable. Since I read a lot of sci-fi this did not cause me any problems. What is important is the way the Libby and the wild man react together. They are great together - believable but not at all predictable. Plus they are both likeable as people - she has a lot of integrity, putting her career at risk to do what she knows is right and he is just ...well, can't think how to describe it... but my toes are still curling. There is an element of danger keeping the pace fast and I certainly read it fast - in one go, did not even stop for a cup of tea, just woosh, devoured! If you like a story-line that is a bit off-beat, or ever enjoyed Tarzan, I would highly recommend WT
