The book aims at sharing information that target breaking the myth many societies hold that certain technical & vocational occupations are specifically for males. In exploring why most communities hold this belief, a number of factors are surfaced through a research that sought views of both males and females pursuing technical and vocational training as well as those involved in management of their training. However, the bottom line points at cultural values and lack of information being the major reasons for low enrolment and high dropout. As a remedy, the book suggests interventions and strategies that could assist in improving the situation with career guidance as the starting point. Dealing with the challenges require participatory approach by various stakeholders all targeting mindset change of the society at all levels.
