From a man's perspective...

I don't really want women to know all of these things that J.J. tells them, as it gives away our (men's) secrets! I'm surprised at how well she really understands men. I'm even shocked that i could not put the book down. The stories JJ tells about her dating experiences are powerful and moving. I really learned alot. I didnt know about the three types of love (agape, philos, and eros) until she explained them in the book. All men and women should read this book.

Great book for everyone...it is HOT!!

The book is hot!!! JJ has got something special here!!!! JJ gives some awesome perspective on dating and relationships. The book is easy to read and very engaging. This book is a book that both women and men should take the time to read. The book is for people that really want to take their current committed relationship or even a casual dating relationship to the next level in terms of how to communicate more effectively and the book addresses many other dating situations as well. The book outlines items that are good practice when dating and what NOT to do when dating or while in a committed relationship. The book gives a lot of personal testimony from the author which in my opinion is AWESOME in itself because it engages you the reader and places you into the author's shoes and it's like your re-living the moment with her. Kudos to Ms. JJ Smith. Pick up the book!!!! I highly recommend it.

Modern Dating 101

Reviewed by Paige Lovitt for Reader Views (6/09) I found "Why I Love Men" to offer a very refreshing, up-to-date approach on dating. While telling her own personal story, the author, J.J. Smith also offers a wealth of advice on dating for women who are either getting back into the dating game or dissatisfied with their current dating situations. I really felt that there was something for everyone in the book. One of the most important issues that stood out to me while reading "Why I Love Men" was that Ms. Smith encourages women to better themselves in the areas of their looks, finances and careers. While reading the book, I thought that there are going to be people who will perceive this negatively because they believe you shouldn't have to change yourself for Mr. Right. Well, I disagree with that idea. What I liked about Ms. Smith's positive encouragement to better yourself was she emphasized that in doing so you will have a better life. By improving our lives, not only do we make ourselves better catches, but we also will enjoy our lives a great deal more, whether or not we are single or in a relationship. Both men and women are more drawn to people who are attractive, successful and truly enjoying their lives. "Why I Love Men" offers some great ideas and action items on how to improve your life. By taking a good hard look at what you have to offer a partner or what you are most likely to attract, you get a really good reality check. Gaining an understanding of why you attract what you attract can also help you evaluate ways to improve your life so that you can start attracting what you really want. And in doing so, you have fun! I highly recommend this book. I truly enjoyed reading "Why I Love Men" and I found Ms. Smith's writing to be highly motivating and energizing.

Every Woman Must Do a BEAUTY TRANSFORMATION!!!

First I saw JJ on TV and on Facebook so I said I would buy this book since JJ was always right on point with her dating advice! But looking at her photos on Facebook and on her website, I would have never, ever guessed that she went through similar stories like me. I had to buy the book just on the chapter on her "beauty transformation" tips that showed how JJ went from 0 dates to many dates. And even the stories that I couldn't relate to, I still learned from them and overall, her dating tips are GREAT...I mean, really great!! I did a beauty transformation in LA and boy did it make a difference in my dating life!

"Why I Love Men" is a wonderful guide for the single, heterosexual woman looking for tips on how to improve her chances on the dating scene. Author J.J. Smith has a very relaxed, conversational style that puts her reader at ease. Her writing flows very naturally, and it feels like conversing with a close friend. Smith divides the book into four sections, each with its own focus. In the first section, Smith provides her own difficult experiences with relationships and dating men. She provides several examples of relationships that went wrong, and she explains why she believes they went wrong, hoping that her experiences can be a lesson to the reader. The second section is focused on self-improvement. Smith shares tips for becoming more appealing to men, with focuses on improving one's beauty, personality, health, and career. She provides checklists and rubrics for evaluating one's worth on the dating market, and each chapter has an action item for the reader to follow. The third section highlights various types of men, and provides tips on how to find and attract the right ones and avoid the wrong ones. Finally, the fourth section covers some of the more interesting and insightful lessons Smith has learned about relationships and dating, including matters regarding cheating, open relationships, and premarital sex. In all, "Why I Love Men" provides an excellent resource for single women who believe they really need assistance and inspiration in their relationships with men. The information Smith shares in her book is more than enough to get the reader started down a better path in dating.
