An Overlooked Gem

It's nice to see the other glowing reviews here. I'm spending the day sorting through our books, getting ready to donate the ones the kids have outgrown, and I'm re-reading some of the old favorites. I was stuck once again by what a wonderful book this is. The illustrations and text work together so beautifully. It's a little gem that deserves more recognition that it has received. This is going on the keep pile. And I might pick up a few copies to give as gifts too.

Please bring back Why Benny Barks! My family has loved this book for years and we quote it to each other frequently. It is the single most memorable children's book we have ever read. Why Benny Barks is touching, funny and clever. A jewel of a book.

A Beautiful book

A wonderfully crafted, fragile masterpiece. I think that this is the best of the BENNY books and one of the best books I have read in years. Many may think this book is only for children, but I'm 46 and this is my favourite book (I'm from England).

Wonderful book for young and old

My 18 month old boy can't get enough of this book. He loves the illustrations and Benny the dog. I have read it so many times that I can recite it without looking and yet I still enjoy it. I have always wondered why my dog barks. Milgrim doesn't tell us why, just acknowledges the question. Some things are meant to be mysteries. I highly recommend this book for children and their parents.
