Targeted to thoughtful readers, this book addresses a cluster of issues often troubling for the person who seeks to understand the Old Testament. Who's Afraid of the Old Testament God? speaks very frankly about some of these "problems," things like sin and the fall, Satan, "moral blemish" passages, strange laws, etc.
This book, while scholarly, is easy for the lay person to understand. It reconciled many issues I struggled with and explains how the God of grace worked in old testament times. I have recommended this book to many Christians who were interested in these issues.
Very Good Book

This book was very well written. I enjoyed the symbolism the author used to get his point across. It was simple yet very powerful.
An inspiring book, extremely helpful in understanding the OT

Thompson shows how the horror of the OT can be reconciled with the grace of the NT, while maintaining its historical context and purpose. Recommended for all who find the stories of the OT unsettling and believe in an eternal and unchanging God throughout history.
