Earl Hicks hasn't had a happy life. It wasn't because he was overweight or not handsome. The fifty-one year old man felt God had dealt him a bad hand. He has lived Digger's Cove his entire life. When Sheriff Abby Anderson finds his body in his back yard. She hoped it was a heart attack. No such luck. Earl had been killed with statue of a black bird. She thinks it is a stupid murder and is pretty sure she knows who did it. when someone else gets killed. Abby is pretty sure she now has two different murderers to catch. One stupid and the other clever.
