Someone Shot the only recording of the song on record in 1952. The investigation became known as, "Who shot butters?" because they had grown to calling the new recording of the song, 'butters.' They questioned everyone in townpark. As it turned out, the neighborhood homeless man had fallen onto the record, after entering, unbeknownst. He'd left the store after begging for money and fell onto the record out of weakness. They re-recorded a song in tribute to the homeless man by Butters called, "Christmas Candy From Butters," and gave all of the proceedings to the homeless man and the dog, Butters to him, as well.
