A hot mess of a family

That family is one hot mess! I was intrigued by the beginning with the dead body at the party and the way everyone acted so suspiciously but I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters as they were all so narcissistic and had completely toxic relationships with each other (definitely psychological but also bordering on physical abuse) that the story lost most of its allure. I did finish it because I wanted to see how it all unraveled and who would get the blame but parts were so not believable, especially with Sadie and the car and how the police went about doing their investigation into the murder. This could have been really great but it was really disjointed with tangents that did not make sense, people dead but not, and some character's past that went a bit of kilter in trying to relate to the current dead body, and why he ended up dead. I would say stay away from the Johnsons!
